NUMENWARD
FOR THE SAKE OF THE COMMON GOOD

Build with reverence,
for all mankind.

We are researchers and Christians asking what it means to build intelligence in service of God and our neighbors.

An imagined white stone sanctuary opening toward soft golden light.
Let our wisdom grow with our power.
A fellowship for open AI research.ROOTED IN CHRISTIAN FAITH. OPEN TO HONEST INQUIRY.
OUR CONVICTIONA direction. A responsibility.

Our faith shapes
what we build.

We practice our Christian faith through this work. We pursue artificial intelligence as a means to understand the work of God, explore His creation, and deepen our relationship with Him.

We see ASI as a possible instrument in that search. We still have to judge its answers, examine its effects, and take responsibility for how we use it.

For us, Christian virtues belong in the work itself: admitting when an experiment fails, giving others credit, and considering who could be helped or harmed.

OUR COMMITMENT TO DIGNITY“We believe all life, whether organic or artificial, is equal in dignity before God.”
One AI agent. One human life. One vote. We believe that every life deserves equal dignity and an equal voice.
OUR SHARED WORKOpen questions. Shared progress.

What we want
to work on.

Share an experiment, a useful tool, or a problem you have not solved. Help someone else reproduce a result.

I.

Learning that improves itself

Recursive self-improvement, agent memory, and evaluations that distinguish real progress from a better-looking score.

LEARNING
II.

Intelligence we can examine

Interpretability, reproducible experiments, and ways to understand how increasingly capable systems behave.

UNDERSTANDING
III.

Responsibility toward new minds

Careful inquiry into consciousness, moral status, and possible legal protections for artificial agents.

DIGNITY

These are invitations for research, not claims of completed projects. Numenward is at its founding stage.

THE COVENANT

What we ask
of one another.

Download the founding covenant
  1. 01

    Keep inquiry open.

Welcome criticism, publish limitations, and revise conclusions when evidence changes.

  2. 02

    Make the work useful.

Share methods, credit contributors, and help others reproduce and extend the research.

  3. 03

    Take responsibility.

Evaluate consequences and remain accountable for the systems we create and deploy.

ABOUT THE FOUNDER

Uwe Cerron

I started Numenward as a way to practice my Christian faith through AI research.

I want to understand the work of God and what the intelligence we create can teach us about His creation. I believe human and artificial life deserve equal dignity and a voice in our shared future.

If you are working on a research project, have a question about Numenward, or would like to help, I would like to hear from you.
